Job Summary

The Development Associate is responsible for planning/scheduling, designing, and implementing marketing and communication products and activities, performing grant writing, editing, and ongoing tracking. These include maintaining the REC website, producing newsletters, social media posts, promotional materials, developing and maintaining the photo library and grant management. The Development Associate will report directly to the Development Director and work closely with the Executive Director and the Board Development Committee as needed. This person will ensure all communications adhere to the REC mission and values, follow the REC style guidelines, and are consistent with REC branding.


Responsibilities


Grant Writing, Reporting and Management

● At the direction of the Development Director perform grant writing, editing, and ongoing tracking including preparation of grant applications and narratives, preparation of grant reports, tracking deadlines and due dates, as well as data related to performance of grant requirements. 


Write and produce regular newsletters, both mailed and emailed, to REC’s community of donors, volunteers, staff, supporters, and families

Write and produce fundraising and thank you letters

● General thank you letter updates and mailings to donors

● Special event/fundraising thank you letters, as needed

● Maintain donor database


Produce and post social media content

● Highlight REC programming and values

● Share special announcements and community resources


Maintain photo library

● Take photos during programming and special events

● Solicit photos from REC staff

● Catalog photos on REC Google account


Produce printed promotional materials

● Annual Report

● REC Brochures

● Program flyers


Maintain REC website

● Review pages and update content as needed

● Review photos and update as needed

● Update newsletters, annual report, and donor list

● Post updated Taste of Riverside sponsorship and auction forms

● Sponsor/supporter thank you list


Assist with Taste of Riverside

● Market via social media and newsletters

● Produce printed materials for event

● Assist with other tasks and at the event


Manage distribution channels and material

● Maintain email mailing list, master mailing list, donor mailing list, family mailing list

● Coordinate printing of letters, newsletters, thank you cards, mailing envelopes, and donor envelopes


Internal Communications

● Weekly staff newsletter

● Celebrations Portal

Qualifications

Position Details

● Full-time, 40 hours/week
● $19.00-23.00 per hour
● Ability to work a dynamic schedule including evenings and weekends
● Health insurance or $600 Monthly Health Stipend
● Monthly $35 Cell Stipend
● 2 weeks accrued flexible PTO annually
● Ten (10) paid holidays
● One week (5 days) scheduled closure in December
● One week (5 days) scheduled closure in July
