FAQs
Is this donation tax deductible? Riverside Education Centers is a non-profit 501(c)3. Tax ID 20-5451495. Until December 31, 2024, all monetary donations to REC are eligible for a 29% Colorado state tax credit. This is a nonrefundable credit which can be carried forward for up to five years and applied to any state tax liability you may have during this time period. Qualifying donations will receive a Form DR-1317 from REC. Please retain the form and provide it to your tax preparer when you complete your annual income tax return. Please note, you should consult your own tax advisor to determine the specific tax benefits, including deductions and tax credits your donation may provide.
Why is there a tip option? Our donation platform is free to us through Givebutter. All tip proceeds go to Givebutter to support their service. You can easily zero out the tip amount by clicking the dropdown arrow under the default tip, selecting 'other', and then input $0.
How do I remove the tip? To remove the tip click on the dropdown arrow under the default tip, select other, and input $0.
Why is there a processing fee? Credit card processors take a cut of each transaction. The processing fee is 2.9% + .30 cents per transaction. You have the option to cover these fees so 100% of your gift can go to REC. If you don't want to cover the fees you can click on the edit button next to fees and uncheck 'I want to cover fees.'
