Executive Director, has been with REC since 2006. She has a background in business, insurance, and genuinely believes we can change the world through education.

Leslie Eslava

Leslie Eslava

Program Director, comes to us from School District 51 where she worked as an in school suspension paraprofessional at OMMS and BMS. Leslie graduated from the University of Dallas with a degree in Psychology. Leslie is bright, motivated and very excited about being a part of Team REC! Habla espanol!

Robbi Grimm

Robbi Grimm

Program Coordinator (Elementary), grew up in Berlin, Germany. He earned his Masters of Education in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and in Physics from Freie Universitaet Berlin. Robbi started with REC as a volunteer tutor when he first came to the US in 2014 and has been with us ever since. He has become an integral part of REC’s management team and helps mentor REC’s Team Air robotics club.

Cindy Haerle

Cindy Haerle

Community Outreach Coordinator, has taught in School District 51 since 1992, working mostly with at-risk students. She has also worked with children and adults with mental health issues and addiction. As much as she liked teaching, her passion is to make life better for struggling students and their families. Her role at REC allows her to follow that passion by helping connect our families and students with the resources they need.

Alan Anderson

Alan Anderson

Alan, Snack Manager, has been a teacher for over 35 years as well as a coach. Alan has taught everything from Kindergartners to high school students. Alan was the head robotics mentor at Collbran Job Corps and math teacher at Grand Mesa High School. Alan brings vast amounts of experience, skills and humor to REC!

Jack Curry

Jack Curry

Program Coordinator (Middle School, Outdoor, and Social/Emotional Learning), came to REC with a degree in Environmental Science and Geology. He has worked in the non-profit world for several years both in his hometown and with a 2-year stint in Panama with the Peace Corps. Jack feels he can benefit our students holistically by giving them the opportunity to connect to the outdoors in the beautiful spaces we have around us here in the Grand Valley.

Greg Bolotin

Greg Bolotin

Program Coordinator (High School/Post Secondary, Youth Leaders), graduated from CSU with a degree in Natural Resources/Environmental Science. He has worked with local youth in Partners’ Western CO Conservation Corps and in School District 51 at Mount Garfield Middle School where he was part of the Special Needs Behavioral Staff. Greg is looking forward to connecting his passions of working with at-risk youth and his love of the outdoors through REC’s programming.

Susette Montoya

Susette Montoya

Office Manager, was born in the Philippines and moved to Grand Junction in 1993. She has ties to REC through her family and has always believed in the importance of academics as the foundation for success in life. Susette’s organizational skills and calm approach to solving any problem make her invaluable to us at REC.

Jan Meister

Jan Meister

Rocky Mountain Elementary Site Manager (RME), is a retired elementary school teacher. She taught grades 1-3 for 31 years in School District 51. She is passionate about helping kids reach their potential in school and to become responsible, independent life-long learners.

Alex Fuentes

Alex Fuentes

Fruitvale Elementary Site Manager(FE), was born and raised here in Grand Junction. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with B.A. in Counseling Psychology from CMU in May of 2018. She has always loved working with kids and enjoys seeing those “aha” moments when whatever they are struggling with finally clicks.

Dixie Wilkinson

Dixie Wilkinson

Dual Immersion Academy site manager, worked for School District 51 for 31 years, the last 14 years as a teacher, before retiring in 2015. After working for Ariel Clinical Services for several years, she realized how much she missed student/teacher interactions. Another REC site manager told Dixie about REC and it seemed to be just what she was looking for. She loves working at DIA and looks forward to getting to know the DIA kids and families.

Amy Ashcraft

Amy Ashcraft

Dos Rios Site Manager, worked in Child Protection Services for five years and then School District 51’s Pathways drug intervention program. While searching for something more compatible with caring for her family, she found REC. Amy loves seeing the different aspects of REC and what we do with our students not only through academic support but with enrichment programming and our efforts at developing REC students’ social and emotional growth. She is excited about helping the DRE program grow.

Mount Garfield Middle School Site Manager (MGMS), is from Grand Junction and has taught elementary and middle school for School District 51 for 34 years. She believes in the value of extended learning time for students and is excited about sharing time with REC’s MGMS students.

Deanna Swetnam

Deanna Swetnam

Bookcliff Middle School Site Manager (BMS), worked at Taylor Elementary for 11 years and in sales 14 years. Deanna is a CASA member and brings her knowledge of resources for at-risk youth and her love for the outdoors to her desire to support REC’s students.

Andrea Stanton

Andrea Stanton

Orchard Mesa Middle School Site Manager, is originally from Oregon. She attended OSU and earned a BS in Child and Adolescent Health and Behavior. After going several different directions, one of which included earning an MA in Pastoral Ministry, she applied for a job with REC. She loves that a day at REC can involve any number of activities – from helping 8th graders understand fractions to assisting families with needed services to cheering on kids while they rock climb for the first time.
