Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Nutrition Assistant is responsible for supporting the Nutrition Manager with acquiring Snack products, prepping, and packing snacks in compliance with CACFP Snack/Meal requirements for regular programming

and field trips.


Physical demands associated with this position may include: sitting, standing, walking, alternative sitting or standing at will, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and or climbing.


Responsibilities:

● Produce healthy snacks in a timely manner

● Sanitize and clean work area daily

● Weekly cleaning checklist

● Monthly cleaning checklist

● Break down & recycle cardboard

● Take out trash daily

● Follow all local and state food safety guidelines as well as CFP requirements

● Assist with food pick-ups from Sam’s or other food vendors, loading & unloading

● Posting daily meal counts on cooler

● Checking for allergies and making substitutions

● Prepping and counting out snacks

● Complete all required trainings

● Assist with daily duties while Nutrition Manager is out; Put away Sysco delivery, pick up Sam’s or other food vendor orders, prep food and ensure every site has the proper amount of food items and accouterments, communicate in the Snack Pick-up chat, log and monitor cooler temperatures, give milk order to rep, and clean kitchen daily

● Help with preparation and production of high-quality salsas in accordance with standardized recipes and food safety guidelines

● Other duties as assigned

Position Details

● Valid driver's license- Must be 18 years of age per insurance
● Able to stand on your feet for 4-6 hours at a time
● Can lift up to 50 lb. repeatedly during the day
● Food handling experience preferred, and ability to obtain food handler's certification upon hire
● Ability to work at a quick pace and excellent time management skills
● Interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
● Work independently and as part of a team

Position Details

● Part-time, 12-18 hours/week
● Pay range: $16-$18/hr.
● Benefits: accrued sick leave (1 hr./ 30 hours worked)
