Elementary School Program Manager - Fruitvale Elementary
A Site Manager is responsible for overseeing approximately seventy diverse students at an individual school in the after-school hours as well as managing and guiding a staff of approximately 8-10 tutors. Responsibilities include staff management, planning for programming. building and maintaining school partnerships, and regular parent communication.
Site Managers create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, so students, staff, and volunteers are productively working together towards high academic achievement as well as promoting social and emotional well being.

Responsibilities
Academic/Programming Planning (10-12 hrs/wk)
● Monitors student grades to encourage on time graduation
● Strategizes strengths of tutors to support student academic content needs
● Prepares weekly plan to guide tutors during programing time
● Survey students and parents on program input
● Designs programming for seniors to support career and/or college
● Collaborates with Program Assistant in development of enrichments and SEL curriculum
● Purchases and maintains supplies for academics and enrichments
Program Implementation (15 hrs/wk)
● Implement planned academic and enrichment programming to meet grant goals
● Implement and enforce a Positive Behavior Support system.
● Implement a consistent and structured daily schedule based on the program rubric
● Provide individual support for students as needed
● Implement an effective student check-in/check-out process
● Oversee snack distribution to students
● Maintain school site cleanliness expectations
Staff Management (4-5 hrs/wk)
● Interview and hire staff and communicate hiring needs to HR Manager
● Facilitate regular staff meetings with an agenda and minutes
● Ensure adequate staff coverage for programming hours
● Guide and direct staff/volunteers during programming, providing feedback as needed
● Evaluate site staff twice yearly and implement improvement plans as needed
● Support staff in the training of best practices, including teaching and tutoring techniques Family Engagement (2- 3 hrs/wk)
● Communicate regularly with parents and log parent interactions
● Follow up with families about attendance
● Ensure students and families are regularly informed about upcoming events, activities, etc
● Coordinate additional family supports/resources as needed
● Plan and carry out 3 Family Engagement events over the course of the year
Build and Maintain Partnerships (1-2 hrs/wk)
● Build relationships and maintain regular communication with school staff including, Teachers, College & Career Advisors, Counselors, Upward Bound Advisors, Custodians, Principals, Secretary, etc.
● Attend/participate in school events and staff meetings as appropriate
● Partner with community organizations and attend/promote their events
● Refer students to community resources by becoming familiar with procedures for support
Staff / Admin (3-4 hrs/wk)
● Ensure all staff sign-in/sign-out daily, review time cards weekly and submit for payroll
● Oversee site budget, submit receipts weekly
● Attend Managers’ meetings regularly and be available during designated work hours
● Gather and submit weekly student data to Operations (attendance, snack attendance etc.)
● Submit required documents such as incident reports, fire drills, student/staff write up
● Participate and complete required and supplemental trainings
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree or significant relevant work experience
● Proficiency in or capacity to learn Google Suite
● Prefer individual experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds
● Strong leadership and organizational skills
● Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Effective oral and written communication skills
● Spanish speaker a plus
Position Details
● Hourly
● $20-$25/hour based on experience
● 1 week each scheduled PTO in December and July
● Accrued 2 weeks flexible PTO annually
● 10 paid holidays
● $500/ month Health Insurance or stipend; $25/ month Phone Stipend
● Some occasional Saturdays and other non-school days for outdoor programming and field trips.
● In-office work hours required: minimum 10/wk
● Program Onsite work hours required: minimum 15/ wk
● Flexible offsite hours: up to 15/ wk
Physical demands associated with tutoring and enrichment activities may include: sitting, standing, walking, alternative sitting or standing at will, lifting or carrying up to 25lbs, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and or climbing.
