About the Job
REC is hiring an Academic Coordinator to to support academic programming for all REC programs for the 2020-21 academic year.
The Academic Coordinator supports Site Managers and academics across our K-12 programs
as part of the Programming Support Team. This includes identifying needs, organizing and finding materials, and thinking systematically about how to offer an engaging and supportive environment as well as meet student academic needs.
Requirements
Assist Site Managers to meet program academic rubric and grant goals.
Collaborate with managers to provide resources and academic support for students.
Collaborate with managers on best practices for connecting REC academic resources with D51 learning targets.
Think creatively and develop systems to connect with teachers.
Be point of contact for site managers when struggling to support students academically
Coordinating additional grant funded programming based on subject matter. (SEL)
Inventory academic materials (books, magazines, curriculum, manipulatives) and coordinate usage with Site Managers
Create and continuously update the menu of academic support bins/ folders that programs can check out to supplement homework.
Be on site at programming 4-5 days a week
Collaborate with program support team to evaluate programs
Facilitate effective collaboration meetings
Assist Summer Programming Planning
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
● Education experience and work experience specifically in D51 highly regarded
●Experience working with students across multiple grade levels K-12
●Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
●Proficiency in MS Office, G-suite and email
●Prefer individual experienced working with at-risk youth
●Strong leadership and organizational skills
●Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
●Ability to work independently and as part of a team
●Effective oral and written communication skills
●Spanish speaker a plus
●Ability to drive a 14-passenger bus preferred. No special license needed.
Position Details
● Full Time Position (40 hours a week)
●Exempt-Salaried, $40,500-$45,000/year based on qualifications and experience
●Monthly $250 Health Stipend and $25 Cell Stipend
●PTO
●11 Paid Holidays
●Pay date is once a month on the last day of the month
